Business E-Bulletin - keeping commerce connected

Our monthly E-Bulletin, aims to keep local businesses in the loop when it comes to discussing aspirations for and opportunities within the borough. Packed with insightful information and covering issues relevant to Swale commerce, including funding, events, training and employment, we hope that it becomes a staple means to keep communication flowing between the council and the business community.

Business Support Programme

Working in partnership with Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce (KICC), Swale provides a FREE business support programme to new and existing businesses in the borough.

The programme comprises:

Starting in Business Workshops – a half day group session, that goes into the basics and is the essential starting point for anyone looking to develop their business idea. Run as a small informal group session with like-minded people, attendees will benefit from a creative and supportive environment that will take their plans to the next level.

During the workshop you will work though the outline of a basic business plan covering:

By the end of the course you will be fired up and have enough knowledge to create a comprehensive business plan.

One to one advice sessions - Following the Starting in Business workshop, you are then entitled to up to three face to face sessions with a business advisor. These sessions are an ideal opportunity to look at particular areas of your business plan, where you may require further advice and guidance but are also beneficial to existing business looking to tackle a specific issue.
‘Ask Phil’ - In need of support or guidance for your business? We know just the man with the answer, if not the plan. ‘Ask Phil’ is an online live chat service with an experienced Business Adviser.

Business Events – Focusing on a variety of different topics, guest speakers share their expertise and experience. Sign up to be notified about our latest events through the business bulletin or follow us on social media.
