Mayor's Engagements Calendar

The Mayor of Swale

The Mayor of Swale, Councillor Samuel Koffie-Williams will attend the following engagements. In his absence, he will be represented by the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Ken Ingleton.

Friday 18 May

11.20am for 12 noon to 2pm Annual Observance to the Aviation Pioneers

At the invitation of the Chairman and Councillors of Eastchurch Parish Council and the Observance Committee the Mayor and Mayoress will attend the 2018 Annual Observance at the Aviation Memorial in the High Street, Eastchurch. They will be accompanied by their Mayoral Cadet, OC Libby Carew of Sittingbourne & Milton Sea Cadets. This year’s Annual Observance will comprise of a short service with a speech by the Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Viscount De L’Isle. Members of the Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm Association and Royal Naval Association will support the event with Standard Bearers on parade accompanied by an Honour Guard of local school children and Sea Cadets. At the close of the Observance guests will process to the Village Hall in Warden Road for refreshments.

Wednesday 23 May

1.30pm for 2pm Swale Senior Forum Annual General Meeting

The Mayor will attend the Swale Senior Forum Annual General Meeting at Phoenix House in Sittingbourne.

7pm Sheppey Sea Cadets Unit Royal Naval Parade 2018

The Sheppey Sea Cadet Unit’s Royal Naval Parade 2018 will take place at the Unit Headquarters, Bartons Point, Sheerness and the Mayor will attend. The Area Officer for Southern Area Sea Cadets, Cdr Trevor Price RN will be the Inspecting Officer. The unit undergoes a detailed annual inspection process in order to gain authority to train cadets and the Royal Naval Parade allows the cadets the opportunity to show friends, family and guests and the inspecting team the wide range of activities that they are involved in. The Mayor will attend ceremonial Colours and prayers to start the evening, which will end with ceremonial Evening Colours, presentations and an address by the Inspecting Officer.
