Developer Contributions Supplementary Plan Document (SPD)

The Council's draft SPD was subject to a formal period of public consultation which ran for a period of six weeks ending in April 2009, in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004 SI 2004 / 2204.

The resultant representations were reported to the Council's Local Development Framework Panel (LDF) on the recommendation that the SPD be Adopted (subject to minor amendments) was approved by the Council's Executive on 8 July 2009 and the SPD finally Adopted on 30 November 2009.

The Developer Contributions Supplementary Planning Document is now a material planning consideration in the determination of planning applications. It applies to the whole Borough and has been prepared pursuant to saved policies SP7, H3, T2, T5, C2, C3 and U1 of the Adopted 2008 Swale Borough Local Plan. It provides detail on what the Council will expect to secure in terms of developer contributions from qualifying developments.
