Tate Movie Truck to Visit Leysdown this Summer
The Tate Movie Truck will be at Leysdown this summer. The Tate Movie Truck will be touring the UK throughout the summer, from July to October. The Truck will be equipped with facilities to run taster workshops as well as more in depth workshops, and also has a fully fitted sound studio on board.
Tate is collaborating with Aardman, the animation company behind Wallace and Gromit, in partnership with creative agency Fallon, who will be producing the Tate Movie. The Tate Movie will be the first of its kind – an animation film made by and for children across the UK. The Movie will be a 20-25 minute film made by primary school age children for children. The children will provide all the assets for the film including: story ideas, characters, environments, sets, props, dialogue, jokes, sound effects, and music. The ideas and assets will be pulled together by a team of professional filmmakers.
Councillor Bryan Mulhern, portfolio holder for culture, said “Having the Tate Movie Truck come to Leysdown will be great for the area. The workshops will be great to get everyone involved and to see what goes into making films. It is a really good opportunity for everyone to get involved and have a go.”
