Swale in Bloom
Swale In Bloom is an overarching campaign run in partnership with grounds maintenance contractor, Blenwood, to promote and improve the floral and ecological assets in the borough.
Our in bloom coordinators are employed to work with local in bloom committees on their campaigns by coordinating and helping to run local gardening competitions, entry into the South East In Bloom Competition and making direct environmental improvements to the local area.
The campaign has been successful over the years and relies heavily on the enthusiasm and commitment of the individual committees and their members. Our local towns have continued to improve and in 2004 Faversham, Sittingbourne and Queenborough all achieved excellent recognition of their efforts in the award of Silver Medal Certificates from South and South East In Bloom. In addition, King George V playing field in Sittingbourne received a Silver Award in the Best Parks category.
