Sustainable Design and Construction Guidance Document
Swale Borough Council commissioned CEN (Creative Environmental Networks) Ltd to undertaken a detailed study of the Borough and to produce a Sustainable Design and Construction guidance document.
The document provides guidance on sustainable design and construction measures along with their policy context, cost and rationale. It sets out the preferred approach developers and applicants should take to sustainable design and construction in new development.
Further sections provide the policy and regulatory background to the study, Swale’s need for sustainable development, and the results of the analysis of Swale’s opportunities and constraints for sustainability measures as well as an analysis of the costs of sustainable construction methods.
Annex A provides a list of local and sustainable construction suppliers, installers and consultants within the borough. This annex is included within the Guidance Document itself and also as a stand alone document.
