Safeguarding Policy

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility

We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of the children, young people and vulnerable adults within Swale and who come in to contact with the services we provide to our residents.

Under Section 11 of the Children Act 2004 we are bound by statutory guidance to make arrangements to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and we work in partnership with Kent County Council and the Kent Safeguarding Children Board to do ensure we do this effectively.

We are also committed to delivering our responsibilities in line with Department of Health ‘No Secrets’ 2000 guidance to protect vulnerable adults from abuse. Continuing to work collaboratively with KCC and the community care services provided to vulnerable adults to ensure we continue to achieve best outcomes for our vulnerable residents.
