Shopping in the town centre suits eclectic tastes, with traditional handicrafts and antique shops sitting side-by-side with more commercial retailers.  Thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of its community-minded residents, it also enjoys regular events including the acclaimed car rally, medieval fair, stunning carnival and of course, the internationally renowned Hop Festival.
