We recognise that while everyone is different, they have the right to be treated with an equal level of respect and have equal access to our services and facilities. We are committed to ensuring equality in everything we do both through our service provision and through our responsibilities as an employer.
The Equality Act 2010 brought in new requirements and duties for public bodies. We have worked with the community and our partners to develop objectives which are both meaningful and relevant to our district and we have published these in our Corporate Equality Strategy. The latest (annual) review of the Corporate Equality Strategy can be found here.
We refer to these assessments as Community Impact Assessments (or CIAs internally) and we conduct these on all of our services. These reviews can be found on the Community Impact Assessment section.
