We are very sorry to all those affected by delays to waste, recycling and garden collections as the crews get used to new routes and vehicles. We are working with Suez to improve the situation, and we’re providing updates with latest information.

Corporate Equality Scheme

The scheme describes how the council will fulfil its moral, social and legal obligations to eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation, advance equality of opportunity, and foster good relations.

It sets out four objectives, which aim to make Swale a fairer place.

  1. Supporting integration and cohesion in our local communities - by fostering good relations between different groups.
  2. Supporting vulnerable residents - by supporting Swale’s more vulnerable residents, particularly those with a disability.
  3. Ensuring easy, clear and convenient access to our services - by improving the council’s customer care and working with communities to make services more responsive to the needs of Swale’s residents.
  4. Promoting equality as a local employer - by ensuring that those policies and practices that affect council staff are fair and promote equality of outcome.
