Register a Cooling Tower, Evaporative Condenser or Heat Exchanger

Under the Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992, you'll need to tell us if:

  • you have a cooling tower or evaporative condenser, including those within air conditioning systems
  • the person responsible for a cooling tower or evaporative condenser changes
  • the cooling tower or evaporative condenser is removed
  • there are any other changes affecting the cooling tower or evaporative condenser

We need to make sure the water system is kept clean and well maintained to stop the spread of infectious disease include legionella, and to ensure that measures are taken to prevent any infection spreading among employees and the public.
