Where disposal in a household waste site is not practical because of an items size, you can arrange to have it collected.
This service helps you with items which you may find difficult to deliver to your local recycling and waste centre because they do not fit in a typical car.
Cookers and Washing machines etc. can also be collected from householders, even if they do not contain CFC's or other dangerous materials, under our bulk items collection scheme any large metal items collected from residents will be taken and recycled.
This service does not include:
Fridges, Freezers and Portable Air Conditioning equipment containing CFC's (Chlorofluorocarbon) can be disposed of in the Borough's household waste sites, they are then de-gassed and as much material as possible extracted for recycling, alternatively these types of item can be collected by Swale Borough Council.
If you would like advise on how to dispose of the above items please contact our Customer Services Team.
There is a charge for this service which is £17.60 for up to 4 bulky/metal items or £17.60 for each white good or TV we collect, however there are a few exceptions so please contact our Customer Services Team for more details.
Please contact our Customer Services at least one week before you need the item collecting so that we can:
Items will need to be left outside for collection. Where possible, please ensure that items are left outside the evening before collection and are accessible and not blocking roads or pavements.
