Report fly-tipping

Use this service to tell us that you've seen waste that's been left in an inappropriate area.

Fly-tipping is a serious offence and you should call 999 if you see it happening.

You should report fly-tipping to the owner of the land if you see it on:

  • agricultural land, including farm buildings, forests and open land
  • land owned by a housing association, such as Optivo
  • private or residential land or property
  • land owned by Network Rail

If you see fly-tipping on land owned by Network Rail, report it directly to them on 03457 11 41 41.

If you're the landowner it's your responsibility to remove the fly-tipping however, we will investigate if you've found evidence.

Before you get started

You can report fly-tipping online. You'll need:

  • the location of the waste
  • the type of waste that's been dumped
  • the date you noticed the waste
  • your full name and postcode
  • an email address

You can include photographs of the waste if you have them.

What happens next

Once we've received your report, we'll:

  • arrange to have the rubbish cleared within 10 working days if the fly tipping has taken place on public land
  • update you on the progress of any investigation
