“The creative
process is a process of surrender, not control.”
Julia Cameron
Sheppey is the only part
of England, which in the 17th century was been
invaded and surrendered to a foreign force, the Dutch Navy. It
was held for the period of two weeks, 4000 sheep were taken but
none of the women. To celebrate this odd history Locals had a
festival to re-enact the events called Sea Sheppey. Local
artists teamed up with Dutch artists to run a series of
workshops to make temporary public art. These artworks are now
being exhibited in the Castle Gallery for the month of October.
